How to Insert Our Affiliate Link on Your Website

Installing our affiliate link on your website is a pretty simple task if you have a basic understanding of HTML or regularly handle your own website updates. However, if that's not you, you'll want to ask the person who maintains your website to install the link for you.

The following instructions are for anyone using a website editor such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage. If you have a Wordpress site, we've included a link under "Step Three" below, which will take you to specific instructions for your blog site.

Step One

Log in to your affiliate page with the user name and password that were emailed to you. Don't have your user name and password? Ask to have them resent to you by clicking here. Please include your name and company name with your request.

Step Two

After you log in to your affiliate page, look on the left hand side for "Get Links" and click on it. You'll be taken to a page that displays a couple of graphic choices you can use on your website along with the HTML code you'll need in order to install the graphic and link on your website.

Choose the graphic you think will work best on your website and copy the string of code you see beneath it. It will look something like this:

Highlight the string of code below the graphic you want to use (as shown in the above example). Then right click on the highlighted code and choose "copy".

Step Three

Open your website editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.) and open the page of your site where you want the affiliate link to go. Wordpress users, click here now for separate instructions.

Choose the "split" view option so that you're looking at both the page design and the corresponding HTML code. The design view should appear on the bottom and the code at the top.

In the design view, decide where you're going to place the affiliate link and click your mouse in that spot. When you do, you'll see the corresponding part of the code above will also be highlighted. Click on the highlighted area in the code, right click your mouse and select "paste". Click your mouse in the design view again and you should see the Steele's Strategies graphic you selected.

Step Four

You're almost done! Just save your changes and publish the changed page(s) to your website. Of course, you'll also want to double-check that everything looks as it should in your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).

If you still have questions after completing the four steps above, please email us.
